Soon it will fulfill two months since iOS 5 is available to users and from when we do not have an untethered jailbreak solution available. In desperation to make untethered jailbreak or jailbreak for for their own iDevice, some users are willing to buy and download any alleged jailbreak solutions.

Some pay tens of dollars on solutions that do not work, while others get all kinds of dubious sites of some false “jailbreak teams” and download programs that infect computers with malware, keyloggers, viruses, etc…

If you start to download jailbreak solutions that you not have heard then think well before you run this program on your computer. If you do not have antivirus or you have a weak antivirus it might to wake up with a infected computer by a malware that might steal personal data and could send them to the server of some hackers.

This kind of practice is for several years on the internet and not infrequently there were users who complained that their computers infected with viruses or malware after they have used.

A few months ago Chronic Dev Team boasts the most advanced solution built around untethered jailbreak several exploits found in Apple’s iOS 5. A month and a half after the release of iOS 5, Chronic Dev Team has released this solution, even more still working on it today… and will launch a program to monitor the crash from our iDevice.

Chronic Dev Team will publish today an article on its blog that will explain everything about this new program and will help them to develop faster the jailbreak solution for us but is largely useless. So far nothing is known about the functionality of this new program but we know that untethered jailbreak solution will not be launched today, so do not expect it.

In fact no other pseudo-solutions team jailbreak developer will not release anything and yes, I know that is rumored to launch a possible solution of untethered jailbreak today but that is a great trick and I need to warned you about this kind of tricks. In conclusion, untethered jailbreak will wait a few weeks in the computers of those who develop it.

This week Apple released the first update of iOS 5 which allowed users to install the new version of the operating system directly from their devices. If you have not yet updated to iOS 5.0.1 from iOS 5 then most certainly that you have badge displayed in the upper right of the Settings application, badge which will warn that you have an OTA update undone.

I saw that many asking about a way that could get the badge out of there but unfortunately this is now impossible to do without jailbreak. Apple does not offer an opportunity to close the application’s badge so the only way to get rid of it is to make the OTA update at iOS 5.0.1 or to install iOS 5.0.1 through iTunes.

If you have jailbreak on your device then the elimination of badge is quite simple by installing the BadgeClear’s tweak from Cydia. Once you install it you will have the option to remove that badge along with any others displayed by your applications and theoretically it should not appear unless Apple launch iOS 5.0.2 through OTA update. This is the only way you can get rid of that badge, and unfortunately it does not work on the iPhone 4S where you do not have jailbreak.

You all know that Apple is “allergic” to jailbreak and any references made to this method of “liberation” of iDevice not found in applications from the App Store. Well fair is “not found” as of 25 October in the App Store application that gives users there is a feeling that can do jailbreak our devices. The application is called suggestive Jailbreak and description text starts with a very suggestive that leaves room for interpretation:

Jailbreak for all iPhones, iPods Touch & iPads. Let’s do it right now!

FEATURES:
● Support of all firmwares from 3.0 to 5.0
(5.0, 4.3.5, 4.3.4, 4.3.3, 4.3.2, 4.3.1, 4.3, 4.2.1, 4.1, 4.0.2, 4.0.1, 4.0, 3.1.3, 3.1.2, 3.1, 3.0.1, 3.0)

● Support of all iPhones
(iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPhone Original)

● Support of all iPads WIFI+3G and WIFI only
(iPad 1, iPad 2)

● Support of all iPod Touch
(iPod Touch 1G, iPod Touch 2G, iPod Touch 3G and iPod Touch 4G)

For me it is clear that the application does jailbreak, but only for those who have taken an iDevice how clear it is? The application itself is just a game but cost €7.99 and the game itself is not really that great and certainly not worth that amount. I do not understand why Apple let this kind of applications in App Store also knowing that users can be seriously misled by the application description. If you encounter the Jailbreak application in App Store ignore it because it is absolutely useless.

At just a day and a half away from launch of iOS 5 beta 6 here we have the first jailbreak solution 100% compatible with the new version of the operating system. iH8sn0w updated about one hour the program sn0wbreeze 2.8 to help us make a jailborken custom ipsw for iOS 5 beta 6 but help us to keep the baseband intact.

In this week iH8sn0w launched a new version of sn0wbreeze to work with iOS 5 beta 5 but it came very quickly beta 6 and it was very prompt so now we can jailbreak without any problems on iOS 5 beta 6.

Here are the functions that are implemented in sn0wbreeze 2.8 beta 5 that are still available online in beta 6:

  • Now supports IOS 5 beta 6.
  • Added Hacktivation Ability.
  • Added option to remove UDID developer check / Beta Timer.
  • Finally decided to fix Baseband Preservation standalone mode.
  • Tethered is booted via iBooty devices.
  • Re-added afc2.

And in the end devices compatible with sn0wbreeze 2.8 beta 6 are:

  • iPhone 3GS – BOOTROM old – untethered jailbreak;
  • iPhone 3GS – BOOTROM again;
  • iPhone 4;
  • Pad 1;
  • IPod Touch 3G
  • iPod Touch 4.

Unfortunately sn0wbreeze 2.8 beta 6 is still incompatible with the iPad 2, so do not try to use this program with such a device.
