Swype is probably the best replacement for the default Android keyboard. It is a great way to post messages or emails, especially when you want to use only one hand, but you get the same output as a QWERTY keyboard. Basically, you just need to pass your fingers over the letters form a word without lifting your hands off the keyboard. Cool, huh?

AppBrain App Market

Android Market is limited with filtering options (country charts, etc.).  AppBrain comes to solve this problem, with the web interface + application. You can make applications in the management interface of a PC but also on the phone.

My Tracks

My Tracks is an open source application that i use for bicycle tours / running it’s helping me to see my position on the map at any time, distance, speed, etc.. Turnover is exported to KML, GPX or directly in Google Maps (example).

With this application, a developer has won the grand prize offered by Google, 275,000 dollars in a contest of Android software’s.
Locale lets you define the most frequented places on a map and set the phone to react to the moment that you are in those places.

Thus, the terminal will change the settings, for example passing silently in a cinema or in an important meeting at work.
