Today is great day for Galaxy S II owners, as in some European countries started upgrading to Android 4.0. Moreover HTC Sensation XE received the update last week, and today we are going to find out when the Motorola terminals will receive the same OS. Details in the next lines!

Motorola has published a list on his forum, which states that the tablet will receive Motorola xoom Family Edition Ice Cream Sandwich in Q2 of this year. Continue on U.S. models, Motorola Photon 4G and ATRIX 4G will be launched in Q3, as the Xyboard 8.2 and 10.1 Xyboard tablets. It’s bizarre that nothing else is mentioned about Motorola RAZR Droid by Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX.

There is a list of terminals in the phase of “testing and evaluation” to see if they can receive ICS or not. Among them include Motorola Droid 3, and apply testing and RAZR models mentioned above and Droid 4. Moto said that there are four key phases of a software update:

  1. Assessment and planning – are benefits to an updated model and the technical problems occur
  2. Development – specified quarterly update launch
  3. Test – the software is ready and will test and announcement of the coming update
  4. Availability of software

I suspect that the same process applies to other leading publishers, but would be nice to explain to us more often with details about what this part of the upgrade, as Motorola did.
