Acer Iconia – a special tablet designed to provide an optimum experience for all-point multi-touch on a dual-screen tablet.

Acer Iconia is a Tablet PC with multi-touch screen that consists of two 14-inch touch sensitive and comes in a unique configuration around the world: Intel Core i5-480M, 4GB DDR3 RAM, hard disk with a capacity of 640GB Built-in Intel HD and video card. Despite its size (347 x 248.5 x 19 – 31.9mm), has no optical drive. As an aside, Toshiba Libretto W100 has 2 displays of 7-inch touch.

Its autonomy is provided by a 6-cell battery and records up to 3 hours in normal work. I can say that is pretty good, considering that the laptop has 2 multi-touch screens with resolutions of 1366 x 768.  Weighs about 2.8kg, far above the average for a 14-inch laptop amd is not always convenient to carry around the office and home. This is due to the quality of the materials used to build the chassis. The cover is made of aluminum, a light gray and black with small inserts.

And going over the brief overview of the basics, I can tell you that the design is very nice. I like models with sharper lines, more compact that leaves a “fierce” impression. And Acer Iconia touchbook enjoy these advantages. The two screens are attached to a circular hinge, similar to that found in Sony Vaio models with power button on the right.

Acer Iconia includes the first 10 finger multi-touch function on a dual screen system equipped with Intel Core i5, establishing a new way to interact with video, photos, websites and video clips. It was created to provide the best experience of all-point multi-touch on a dual-screen tablet. This was the point from which went to development of Iconia and applications such as Acer Ring.

Acer Ring turns on by placing five fingers on the screen and provides quick access to a range of programs optimized for touch screen systems, the keyboard, the editor of gestures, Windows and Device Control.
